CeBIT Global Conferences 2011: At the Round Table with founder Jeremy Irish Groundspeak

am now at last I rested again, for the Cebit day was exciting and exhausting at the same time . But let's start from scratch:

am I to be planned, were close to 4 clock in the morning, because by 5 clock Petcher wanted to stand in front of my door to pick me up for the trip to Cebit. It all went as planned (even if I only had 3 hours sleep) and we got on the road yet from the Berufsgeocacher. The trip passed without stopping and wireless traffic, so we had already arrived around 7:30 clock in Hanover. So, I still raised a few special boxes, which are plug some holes in my "Finds by laying date, and then we went to the fairgrounds. Quick good parking found on the jacket and on the entrance. Waited 20 minutes, at 9:00 clock the doors were then opened and went inside.

at the exact moment Petcher got the email with the multi-Publish . The first priority had been directly addressed , on the way we have picked chaos that accompanied us from now on. For details, you can find in my log . The moral of the story: We are for this multi approximately 2 km in the goose-step from station to station ran what my feet were not exactly on their penny-10cm heels great, but I survived it . Also, I had also even my sneakers while . Lo and behold, it was worth it: We were 3-6 at the final person and could get hold of us as the strictly limited Jeremy Irish @ CeBIT Global Confernces Coin (10 copies) :

You may discover they like to
if you find it as nice as I

While the others are rather disappointed that there is a mypersonalgeocoin coin, I find it great! I feel almost honored to have received, finally showing so, how quickly we were . I mean, it was an STF, which I find not that bad! Thus, the eventful day began at Cebit. Following the Multi-Fund, we parted first up and Peter and I explored the halls, grabbing schonmal from a few things, informed us, etc. (what one normally at Cebit containing so does ). To clock it was 12:00 then the Conference Center to attend the talk by Jeremy Irish, "The History of Geocaching.

In summary, it was a nice, informative lecture. Jeremy in this context also to the future and answered as schonmal some of my earlier collection of questions that I am actually following wanted to make Round Table. The audio recording of the lecture you can listen to HERE .

Following 10 guests were invited to sit down with Jeremy to himself at the round table and ask him questions. In the end it was not a round table but rather a get-together on couches, which already had almost from the living room . For drinks you could be kind enough to talk, is a record of the discussions it soon HERE (direct link follows if it is online).

Jeremy is really very nice and authentic, not played or snooty. Simply cool ! The question and discussion I really liked, you could learn something new (as you can hear soon in BGCs podcast) and I'm dashing "photographic evidence" of me with Jeremy Irish in live and real (no Madame Tussauds )!

I hope all your questions could be answered with the lecture, and the podcast. After the lecture 60-10 logs per second sent at the weekend said, I have to ask why Geocaching.com is sometimes so slow just pinched . Thus, a Amount of traffic I would have then not be able to imagine!

In the next few days I will write you a German language summary, which summarizes the most important facts and details. But no matter to me for first kale-eating and relax a little vacation to him some day be ! Until then, I say goodbye with a beautifully silly photo of Jeremy and me :

The Great Wilderness Cleanup

Nancy Maddock organized for years on Mother's Day weekend (7 and 8 May) in Canada The Great Wilderness Cleanup. I have observed the related discussions and reports on river cleaning operations in Canada and Great Britain until I have always been interested in this year times taken the initiative to launch such actions also with us. The Mother's Day weekend is of course very late in this country since then trees and shrubs have been first leaves but the symbolism that is associated with "Mother Earth's Day" shall also not be underestimated.
The program of the paddle friends I have rededicated therefore an event: Now we do not carve emergency paddle at 08.05. but paddle upstream to the weir Hirschauer and then collect on the way back all the garbage that lies on the shore and in shallow water and hanging in the bushes. Before I am afraid of the municipal solid waste disposal service garbage bags and arrange a collection point (preferably at the first weir - because who wants to portage around the garbage already painfully) on which collects in the next week, a garbage truck all the sacks.
I have just abgepaddelt the route times and punted. As many a bag will be full ...

Why I Cant Watch Movshare

Friday practice

Gradually, the days so a little longer and Friday succeed I am now and a little earlier to get home. So I could now go to the swimming pool instead of training (the bathroom is now on vacation beginning probably already closed) paddling with Røskva.

We previously sufficiently long time at the boathouse played ball so that she was tired enough to accommodate a full Neckarinsel round to sit quietly in the boat. The evening sun has brought the river front of Tübingen in perspective. This is an appropriate transition from a tedious work week to the weekend.

Cebit 2011: Let's go!

After I passed a few hours before my final exam for this semester , I can not even relax me, but am still in the middle of Stess . However, it's kind of positive stress, because I pack and organize for the trip to Cebit, which is also my way home for the holidays.

in 7.5 hours, the Petcher stands outside my front door. Then it's 05:00 in the morning clock (is it really the sun had risen? Early March, probably not, right? ) and it goes on to Hanover! In between we have the Berufsgeocacher forks on the road and plan to arrive around 08:00 clock in Hanover. Then, a few old boxes to find that I still missing in my matrix and it goes to Cebit! The makes to clock at 09:00, then a little rumgegondelt and cached (there are really 5 new cans on the ground) and clock starts at 12:30 Jeremy Irish's lecture, followed by exclusive Round Table, in which we can be there (Wuhu, we are so VIP ). Next we will explore further the Cebit and evenings it goes for me, gene home if all goes well I'm around 21:30 clock in Bremerhaven - and after a 18 hour day probably easily broken .

who is also at the Cebit and wants to meet me has either my cell phone number or Peter he writes in a twitter reply (ie, a tweet with @ Pidi_88). If all works, we get it, thanks to Peter's mega-phone with and then maybe we'll meet !

Otherwise, I'm really excited to have translated all your questions and wish all others who will still visit the Cebit, much success - and everyone who can not attend or want to have a nice day !

Students brunch

Well, what can I say? Actually it all started with the HCT, the HCT Event bruncht to . I got the Publish-mail and was really interested in total, even if it is at such an early time of day, it's ok to go to Hamburg and a little Buffetieren and chatting. But unfortunately we were poor Students the buffet price of 14.90 € too expensive - so many sandwiches you can eat but not (Okay, perhaps ... Petcher ).

any case, we have to join first the idea is simply blown off, and even all the bad half-Sun About two hours later the whole thing already looked different from . From a fixed idea in a few detailed twitter Replies emerged an alternative event: Students brunch . Very stylishly, of course, nothing less than the Gasthof zum goldenen M ! Thus even those who would like to go HCT Brunch to have something like this, it's not the same Day but a week earlier: on 8th May 2011 from 10 clock gehts los! Join

course, anyone who has the desire and sees the irony behind a breakfast at MCD. Just nice chat and even try the odd breakfast assembly line. We hope that as many spontaneous and can join in with our idea we all have a bit of fun - although I really still asleep at the time .
