18.02. - 20:02:11 With Tarp teepee but without the 3rd Winter Tipi camp The ice of the dirt road gleams black in the snow while I was at the Wintertipilager Kreutzen / Munster further. Even from the parking lot, I can see through the snowy forest the glow of bonfires to have gathered in the hooded men, moving in the cold, hard, while in the background, the frozen steam of their breath with the smoke of a Zeltöfen misty white haze formed.
way I had imagined over the last six months, the scenario and really looking forward to this experience. But then it was really warm in early February. The air warmed himself up to fifteen degrees, and soon after days of rain ruined my hopes for a nice, dry storage atmosphere. My disappointment was great. What to do? Tent with a floor pan take? Several pairs of rubber boots? Sufficient change of clothes? Hobo and Dutch Oven can be at home because, it is found in the muddy heathen to anyway no fire wood?
But then suddenly the dream a reality. In the week before the event, the temperatures dropped well below zero degrees and suddenly was in the Lüneburg Heath even snow!

| dream and reality: Wintertipilager in freezing temperatures and snow |
the evening of my arrival was very late and was the round of participants around the camp fire. In small groups on technical issues of camp life, talk shop of boat building as well as many private stories were exchanged. Eventually, well after midnight, it was the most participants, but so cold that they voluntarily retired to their tents heated. I had, however, I still look for a suitable campsite. The primary question is whether the slightly resilient floor beneath the snow just dry soil or mud but could be made, in the darkness no longer sufficient to determine. So I gave up a place to sleep on the floor and pulled me back in my dry hammock.

The fresh air of the sleeping under the stars for me is an incredibly wonderful gift. I sleep under these conditions in my warm sleeping bag mostly deep and long. Can disturb me no sound or even morning sunlight. So healthy this sleep may be, it was so unhealthy in this case, waking up half an hour before departure for paddling and to know that Ally had to be built nor urgent. So was dispensed that morning for coffee and freshly baked bread. Instead I built with Martin's expert assistance on the frosty Ally, tied him to the car, took my paddle and clothes could only be glad that I was just ready to become so, as the convoy slowly away from the bivouac site removed.
way I could after all the still hot coffee of the day before from my thermos and enjoy, there was a little block of Swiss chocolate and a can of dried Bananas.

the first time I went to Ally in a duo with a higher-powered, adult, bow thruster. The Thruster function We had been disabled due to lack of experience in the bow. For this "test drive" the Gerdau was downright predestined. The fast meandering meadow stream leaves a lot a funny hook, which is, of course, was my ambition, without touching the banks get through.

But Ally is a way which can be in such a situation easily steered. Even close, hake celled bypasses smaller jams and sweepers designed with a dreamy ease.

In Gerdau we took a short rest. The awaited restaurant had closed, unfortunately, so we improvised a little . Some were cooking her soup, and ate their sandwiches while I brought with me mostly resigned to my coffee.

After Ally was tied on my car roof, I had to leave something for the preparation of dinner and breakfast the next morning get. At half past six I reached the camp and immediately began a hole for the Dutch Oven. My fear was not small, when I saw that the forest soil was bone dry at this point, loose and slightly peaty. By means of an applied ice sheet and wood chips, the Haralt with his Fiskars hatchet from a block of wood was struck, the fire protection is sufficient enough. Haralt had just been joined straight from Hamburg to the meeting. Because he had not yet come to shop, invited I him to a dinner. Together we prepared the food, the roasted roast sharply, extinguished with the liquid of canned vegetables from the meat and added the vegetables and whole potatoes. Using the IKEA coal fireplace (kitchen appliances basket) we had enough in the meantime prepared coal to the pot trust left for some time alone.
Unfortunately I did out of sheer thought of the food verpeilt total, not that Peter Wolf Peuker documentation should be presented to the camp, but in a nearby business. Since the cooking time of our Interest was in conflict with this date, I decided to remain on the premises. I joined to Max and Karla, that I was able to talk super great. Both worked for me so mature that I could hardly imagine, are dealing with 18-year-old students in the school have to prepare. And by the way we set forth the content of Dutch Ovens.
such a tasty, tender but still crunchy roast I had to date not yet be able to taste! For Haralt of course also what was left. That night I was not particularly long. to Knowing me dry under the floor, I gave in this Night in my hammock and slept a full 10 hours in the best air.
This morning was something very special on the agenda: The NDR was planning to do a live broadcast from our warehouse. Unlike before, when transmission cars were hauled with antenna masts and generators came here only the journalist Thomas Stahlberg with his assistant, put intelligent questions, brought even more intelligent statements on its own, after which we knew at last, on which social deficits we have. Listen to the report on the best times to yourself:
Stahlberg in Wintertipilager While Mr. Stahlberg with Albert over the toilet in the tipi pole talked shop, and I sat Haralt already in his tipi at the breakfast table and enjoyed coffee and toasted bread with lots of delicious ingredients. Our conversation enriched himself a little later to Andreas (Few paddlers) contributions. The three of us enjoyed the quiet conversation and asked again each determine for itself that it is really incredible, through which people can meet in our sport and lifestyle. My departure still took a long time. Time and again there were people with whom I talked like and intense.
For me, this weekend was a typical weekend Canoe:
I could once again be among nice people, I move in total freedom, get some fresh air, there are a few challenges with the Canoe and totally unwind.
What more could I want?
